Cindy, a self -taught artist was born on Santa Teresa mission in 1978, and although she went to school in Alice Springs she was brought up with the traditional education and values of her country. Her fathers country is Annemurra near Gem Tree, north East of Alice Springs and her mother's country is Arrulka near Conniston North West of Alice Springs. She is Married to Stephen Bird and now lives at Mulga Bore, a remote desert community on the Utopia homelands about 240klms from Alice Springs.

Cindy's painting is a landscape of her traditional country Annamurra situated approximately 150kms north east of Alice Springs in the beautiful Harts Range. It illustrates Annamurra Creek bed meandering across the country into the site of the Arlatyey Dreamtime Story.
