Turkey Tolson Tjupurrula was born about 1942 about five miles East of Haasts Bluff his family moved between traditional Pintupi country around Kintore to the Hermannsburg mission, where he could collect rations of flour, tea and sugar, Later in 1959 when Papunya was being established they "come in from the bush". Here in 1971 he was one of the youngest of Geoff Bardon's original group of artists. His subjects and themes are: Bush Fire, Emu, Snake, Woman, Mitakutjirra and Straightening the Spears.

A very different Turkey, he was almost finished this when he suffered his first heart attack, thankfully he recovered and was able to complete it.
