Ngarlajiyi, bush carrot ,or small yam, has a small edible tuber resembling a carrot. Napurrurla and Nakamarra women, are depicted digging for Ngarlajiyi with their (digging sticks). The concentric circles represent the plants and ceremonial places. The straight lines joining the circles are yartura (roots).
